About Ekaterina Valiulina
Ekaterina Valiulina is a Siberian-born violinist performing on the Nicola Bergonzi 1793, generously loaned by Monte Carlo Rare Violins and the association “Adopt a musician”.

She studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Eduard Grach, and later with violinist Sergey Krylov at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, where she was selected for the Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance program.

Ekaterina is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Lipizer Competition in Italy, the Vaclav Huml Competition in Croatia, the Yampolsky Competition in Russia, as well as competitions in Germany, Romania, and Kazakhstan.

As a soloist, she has performed in prestigious venues such as the Tchaikovsky Philharmonic Concert Hall and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in Moscow, the Conservatory Hall of Zagreb, the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi – Museo del Violino in Cremona, LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, the Auditorio della Radio Svizzera Italiana, the Opéra de Reims, and Palazzo Tursi in Genoa. She has also appeared at major festivals including Ceresio Estate in Switzerland, Unione Musicale in Turin, the International Chamber Music Festival in Rome, the International Chamber Music Festival in Elba, and Jeunes Talents in Paris, among others.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with distinguished musicians and conductors such as Shlomo Mintz, Tony Walters, Sergey Krylov, Alexander Vedernikov, Nicolas Krauze, Constantin Adrian Grigore, Alexander Madzar, Ingmar Lazar, Yuval Gotlibovich, and Andrea Raffanini, Marguerita Santi, Asier Polo, Raphaela Gromes. She has performed with orchestras including the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Vigevano, the Sibiu State Philharmonic Orchestra, the Croatian Radio and Television Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana.
In 2015, she recorded the DVD The Golden Twenties of the Violin, featuring works by Ravel, Ysaÿe, and Stravinsky. She has also performed live on Radio France Musique with pianist Ingmar Lazar. More recently, she recorded an album dedicated to Rebecca Clarke together with pianist Margherita Santi and violist Giulia Panchieri for the “Brilliant Classics” label.

An active chamber musician, Ekaterina won the International Harp Contest in Saluzzo, Italy, in the chamber music category together with harpist Elisa Netzer. Following their debut at LAC Lugano Concert Hall, the duo was invited to perform at numerous festivals in Italy and Switzerland.
She also appeared in the RSI documentary Il futuro della memoria, performing in Cremona on the “Vesuvio” violin by Antonio Stradivari.
